The Mercury Cafe hosted the Colorado Green Party and the National Green Party on Monday night, August 25, 2008. After several local Green Party candidates spoke, including a person running for U.S. Senate, Cynthia McKinney, the Green Party Candidate for President, gave an intimate speech to an audience of over fifty people describing the effects of the police state in the United States and our need to unite our interests in immigration, the environment, anti-war and build a multiracial movement. Following her is a speech by her VP, Rosa Clemente, that proved emotional and incredibly passionate.
