Happy Rakhi!

16 08 2008

In Indian mythology, there are instances which describes the brother and sister bonding, the bonding between lord Krishna and Draupathi is being celebrated as Raksha bandhan. The day of Raksha Bandhan begins with prayers and the event of tying the Rakhi by the sister to the elder brother.

Kumkum are applied on the forehead of the brother before tying the sacred Rakhi. The brother in turn promises protection for his sisters and gives her a gift in turn.

Happy Rakhi to all brothers!

Hi Dudes,

I thank each and everyone who made me feel good by cheering my toons whenever i do good stuffs in the ToonDoo space :-).

and thanks to the dudes whoever faved my toons, and gave appreciations, cribs, suggestions by comments in my toons.

And I would love to dedicate my first ToonDoo blog post to this organization http://www.rosy.org.uk/

ROSY - Respite nursing for Oxfordshire’s Sick Youngsters is an organisation which raises awareness of the need for respite nursing, promotes fundraising and raises money to boost the extremely limited resources of Oxfordshire’s Children’s Respite Nursing Team, helping to increase the invaluable services they provide.

Our target is to raise £150k per annum to cover and sustain the costs of the extra nurses provided to supplement the existing respite team, enabling a significant increase in the care they can offer. We also aim to provide medical equipment that the nurses need to do their job efficiently.

There are now five additional Respite Nurses fully funded by ROSY working within Oxfordshire’s Children’s Respite Nursing Team. In addition to this ROSY has provided a substantial amount of medical equipment and specialist toys for their use. ROSY also arrange counselling for some of the families that are under severe stress due to caring for their children at home. why rosy? read on…

Thanks for your time, see ya in the next post :-)!
