A new dimension: Shadows and Silhouettes

Hi Dudes and Dudettes,

Our latest addition to the ToonDoo creator is not a new feature but an added functionality to an older feature.

You can now use the color button in the bottom toolbar to create a silhouette version of any character or prop at ToonDoo!

This opens up a whole new dimension and many interesting possibilities that you can explore while you create.

Have fun exploring and creating!

Open Sesame!

Remember Ali Baba and the cave of stolen treasures that used to open up on saying the magic words “Open Sesame”?

Now, you too can open your own treasures (your toons at ToonDoo) in a special way!

And you don’t even need any magic words for it!!!

Have fun exploring your treasures at ToonDoo!

Who said comics are EASY TO PUBLISH!!

And, oh yeah, just because ToonDoo makes it ridiculously easy to make a comic strip, please don’t go about thinking creating and sustaining a comic-strip is easy!

By NO STRETCH of imagination!!

Take a look at this video, that describes in meticulously painful detail, what really goes into the making of a comic strip. (In this case, the Sheldon strip)…

But right now, I would rather stick to ToonDoo’s Creator, Thank you!!

Announcements for the next 48 hours..

Hi Tooners,

Here are some important announcements for the next 48 or so hours.

We will be shutting down “new registrations”, around 11 am tomorrow morning.

Simultaneously, all of Toondom will vanish for the non-logged in user.

This is basically to simulate and test the “private beta” phase that we are planning as the first leg of our public launch.

Please bear with us. Your toons will be safe meanwhile.

Some repeated ‘customer-complaints’ that I want to address here, so that you are assured that we KNOW about the problem and are WORKING on them.

a) Login doesn’t really login. Some people have reported this problem. We are working on it. If you have that problem, write to us, we are trying to identify the conditions this fails in.

b) Positioning of elements in the creator mode aren’t exactly reflected in the view mode. We know about this problem. We are working on it. Hold on.

c) Your ToonDoo is missing from the site. Cool down. If you can see them in the open-dialog of the creator, rest assured we can retrieve it. There must have been a glitch somewhere in the backend process. We can sort it out, just drop an email to us.

d) Textboxes are extremely small or blown out too big, and are not the way you originally created them. This could have happened for a few ToonDoos, because we have recently introduced the ‘text-box font resize’ feature, and the default size assigned to your font could have ended up being bigger/smaller than the original. Just reopen the ToonDoo, set the problem right, and republish. All will be fine.

e) I have Flash, but I am getting a No-Flash-Found error. We have fixed this problem in most browsers on most OSes. Would be great if you write to us when facing this problem. (Remember, we need Flash version 8 or higher).

f) When reopening a saved ToonDoo, I get a “Loading” error, and it just keeps spinning forever, like that. CALL US immediately. You’ve hit a golden bonanza bug, that we have been trying to first locate, before eliminating!

Thanks.

ToonDude from Jambav.
