REgarding REdoo REsults!

Hi Dudes and Dudettes,

We know that most of you have been eagerly awaiting the results of the ReDoo contest and wondering why it has outlasted its monthly term!

Since this contest was based on the ReDoo feature and all entries had to be based on the same starting point, (a previous contest-winning toon) we wanted to wait till we received enough entries. We now have a total of 126 entries which have been evaluated by our panel of judges. Results are just in, so we won’t keep you waiting any longer…

The winner of the ReDoo contest is a prolific ToonDooer who is known not only for his many hilarious toons and but also for his unparalleled mastery over the DoodleR tool!

That’s right, we’re talking about ToonDooer nmichael, who joined us in May this year and immediately captivated many ToonDooers with his creativity and breathtaking doodles. He has now gone on to win the ReDoo contest with an amusing twist to the original toon as presented in his ReDoo.

Congrats to nmichael, on his many achievements at ToonDoo besides winning this contest!

We would also like to commend the creative twists in the following ReDoo entries which have won special mention!

Kudos to all the winners and thanks to all the other participants who made an effort in this contest!

He, who spins the funniest tale, wins this contest!

Hi Dudes and Dudettes,

We’re very excited to announce the results of the Funny Tails contest…

The winner is an avid ToonDooer, known for his unique creative style, love of the Jambav character and Olympic toon collection. I’m sure you must have guessed it by now, but just in case you haven’t, it’s none other than ToonDooer bernd!

A childhood picture of ToonDooer bernd

That’s right, ToonDooer bernd, who joined us in November last year and dazzled us with his brilliant toons, has now won last month’s animal humour themed contest!

Here is the toon, ‘The year of the Rat‘ that won him the contest…

However, the contest win is just icing on the cake. In about 10 months of ToonDooing, bernd has already received a whopping 160 editor picks, 614 cheers and 1507 comments on his toons! And if that wasn’t enough, he went on to win the contest!

Read about what bernd had to say about himself, about ToonDoo and about winning the contest. All that and more, in this toonbook below…

And that’s not all folks! We’ve also awarded special mentions to 4 ToonDooers for commendable creativity shown in the following contest entries by them…

Congrats to all the winners, and thanks to everyone else for participating!

Have fun ToonDooing and ReDooing (especially keeping in mind the theme of the new contest at ToonDoo!)

All in a day’s win by slounge!!!

Hi Dudes and Dudettes!

It’s now time to announce the results of the ‘All in a day’s work’ contest. So here they are…

Among all the impressive entries, ‘Competition’ by slounge attracted the maximum votes from the judges panel.

Congrats to slounge for winning the contest!

His winning toon ‘Competition’ truly gave competition to all the other entries!!!

slounge joined us at ToonDoo on 24th July 08′. He went on to create the winning toon ‘Competition’(created on 25th July!) and many others within just a day of his joining, thus literally proving the contest theme ‘All in a day’s work!!!’

Here’s what this literal winner, toondooer slounge had to say about winning the competition with his competition

TD: Congratulations! In just a short time that you’ve been on ToonDoo, many of your toons have been featured as Editor Picks and one of them has even won the contest! Tell us how you feel about it?
SL: I feel very honored that my peers enjoy my work. There is so much negativity and strife in the world. I feel that if I can make 1 person laugh, if I can brighten up a person’s day just a little bit, then I did something that day and contributed positively. I find that ToonDoo is a good medium for this.

TD: When and how did you learn about ToonDoo?
SL: I recently heard about ToonDoo while surfing the net. Originally I was looking to make SuperHero Comics (a la Marvel and DC), but stumbled upon ToonDoo and decided to release a little bit of creativity.

TD: We’d like to know more about you. Tell us where are you from and what you do?
SL: I am originally from NYC and currently reside in Southern California. I currently am a Medical Sales Rep.

TD: What are your interests and hobbies besides ToonDoo?
SL: I find myself to be pretty diverse in my interests/hobbies… I love all sports (NY Mets! NY Giants! NY Knicks!! Yah!!), I play MMO’s and Xbox 360, I love movies and all types of music (from R&B, Rap to Bocelli), and I love the financial markets. I love to watch the Food Network and get inspired to cook.

TD: Your creativity is apparent from your toons. How did you express this creativity before you found ToonDoo?
SL: I was a Theatre Major in College and did little side work. I also like to write and express my vision through the art of dance…(ok..the dance part is bogus… 8-) )

TD: Most of your toons are part of a ‘Simon the salesman’ series created by you. What inspired you to create this series?
SL: Almost like “The Office”, everyone has a job. I find great humor in our everyday life. Everyone can relate to it, adding to the humor level. I think this is why it appeals to most people across the board.

TD: Which feature at ToonDoo do you like the best?
SL: love the fact that ToonDoo is sooooo easy to use. It is very user friendly and anyone can pick it up in under 15mins. It’s great fun.

TD: What changes would you like to see at ToonDoo?
SL: ToonDoo is good so far, as long as there are constant updates and newer cartoon items, all is well.

TD: What can we do to make ToonDoo a more popular self-expression tool?
SL: A bit more adverstising. Partner with big social network webpages. I know that I include it in my Blog, so that helps.

TD: Please share some contest-winning advice for other Toondooers.
SL: Bottomline is do what makes you happy. I love to make people laugh and take a look at the world from a different angle. Get in the game and do what makes you proud. If people appreciate what you do and you are happy with it, then the world is a better place!

TD: Wow, that really is a great bottom line indeed! Congratulations once again on winning this contest and all the best for the next one! We hope to see more of your creative toons soon!

Congratulations are also due to the toondooers who were awarded special mentions for their commendable efforts on the following toons…

Thanks to everyone for their participation in the contest!
We hope this month’s contest theme will inspire some wild creativity too!
