Here come the WidgeToons!

Hi Dudes and Dudettes,

Here’s presenting a cool new tool that helps you showcase toons in a slideshow format!

It’s called WidgeToons, because it is a widget that displays latest toons by you or by your favorite ToonDooers. You can embed it within your blog, website or your social networking profile pages.

The WidgeToons come with customizable font and background colors and will alternately showcase the last 12 toons by any ToonDooer.

Now have fun creating with ToonDoo and showing them off everywhere else too!

Trick or Treat?

Hi Dudes and Dudettes,

Now that the festivities have already begun with the Diwali special at ToonDoo, we decided to bring in the festive ’spirit’ of Halloween too!

So, here’s our all-new ‘No Tricks, only TREAT!’ Halloween collection of props featuring jack-o’-lanterns, scarecrow, witches hats and brooms, ghoul candy, cauldron, and more.  All these have been added to the ‘celebration’ gallery of the ToonDoo creator.

And if that’s not enough, your favorite Jambav bear gets a Halloween avatar too!
Check out his many scary Halloween-themed postures in the Jambav gallery.

Happy trick-or-treating and happy creating!

The Tool or the hand that holds it?

It was for a reason, that we decided to not call our “drawing tool” at ToonDoo as “Painter” or “Artpad” or something that sounds like we’ve built a mini-photoshop for you..

We wanted you to just “doodle” in a few “finishing touches”, and for that reason, we provided a basic minimum of tools, and even named the tool quite humbly as “The DoodleR”.

But, looking at the creative variety and sheer quality of some of the stuff you guys have come up with, we are just flabbergasted.

Just goes to prove, I guess, that it is the hand that holds the tool that is much much more important than the tool itself.

After all, Vishwanathan Anand plays in the same sixty-four squares!

Recently, I bumped into this wonderful Youtube Video that just proved the same point again.

Lowly MSPaint, that default drawing tool from Microsoft, which has probably remained unchanged in feature set for nearly fifteen years now, can be used to create even the quintessential “most famous painting of them all”, La Gioconda, the Mona Lisa!

Looking for more inspiration? Just fire up the ToonDoo search, and look for some amazing work from toonscribbles, indian_blues, nmichael and cmk100, not to mention scores of other pixelpainters!
